Finally there is something new about Blizzards MOBA game! It’s been a very long time without any information whatsoever, but now it is official. The Blizzard Allstar has changed name to Heroes of the Storm, and even has their own section on Battle.net!
With the name change and the new website, they released an announcement video, made by non other than the famous SC2 fan artist Carbot, and do I really have to say how awesome it is?!
Together with the announcement, they have also released the schedule for BlizzCon 2013. It is looking really good so far, although it doesn’t look like there will be any big surprises. Some Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls information, along with what’s next in the World of Warcraft and then a better look at said MOBA. All in all a really interesting schedule, but sadly no big surprises – yet.
With BlizzCon moving oh so close, I am still keeping to my predictions: Hearthstone released at BlizzCon, Heroes of the Storm will be announced and released in May/June 2014, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls to be announced for 2014, although they don’t want to set a date, and a new look into what the next World of Warcraft expansion might look like!
All in all, quite exciting news, and more to come in the near future! I will keep up with the updates and post anything new here, as my predictions will be confirmed, so keep an eye on it!
Happy New year peeps! And what a glorious year it looks to be! Few hours into the 2013 the first good news from the gaming news arrived. Mike Morhaime announced on twitter that there would be a BlizzCon this year! BlizzCon is a yearly event for Blizzard Entertainment where they most of the time announce upcoming games, expansions packs and whatnot.
I am quite excited about this one, for a few reasons. First of all the event is amazing! The show is awesome, the WoW Arena and Starcraft 2 tournaments are great and not to mention the Q&A with the game developers! Then there is the main point of BlizzCon: the games! One of the games I hope to be announced is the expansion pack for Diablo 3. Seeing as it’s been almost a year now, and still 10 months to go till BlizzCon, I can almost (but just almost) guarantee that there will be an expansion announced. But what I am more interested in and excited about is if the expansion would be the rumoured Project Blackstone!
I’m also wondering if we’ll get to hear about a new expansion for World of Warcraft. Yes I know Mist of Pandaria just got released ½ year ago, but they did say they would release new expansion more frequently, so this could happen.. Maybe we’ll finally get to see the Emerald Dream! And then there is Blizzard Allstars, which they have been mentioning oh so many times before. I really hope this games will be released soonish, I mean.. Who wouldn’t want to beat the crap out of Arthas with the Queen of Blades?! Or teach Diablo a lesson with the magnificent Jaina Proudmoor? There were rumours that it would be released with Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, but that was shut down by Dustin Browder, “the game will be released when it’s ready” – boy have we heard that one before!
Now to the most exciting stuff. Project Titan! Okay, it’s been a few years since it was mentioned for the first time, and I honestly doubt that we’ll see a release date any time soon. But I am still hoping to hear a bit more about it, to see what it is.. A new MMORPG? A FPS? Or something completely else? Shame it’s so long to BlizzCon…
Hopefully I’ll win the lottery so that I get the chance to go to Anaheim and actually see it! But, that is rather unlikely as I don’t play the lottery… Perhaps I should start to remove people for money.. or hope one of you lovely people want to buy me a ticket! ❤ No..? Oh well, was worth a try! BUT that is it for me now, Mike is over and out!
Around a week ago Blizzard registered the domain ProjectBlackstone.com and boy has there been a lot of rumours around! People have been spamming twitter, facebook, forums and whatnot with speculations on what it could be, but of course no one knows!
Blizzard has confirmed that there will be a Diablo 3 expansion, and Blackstone could easily be the that expansion. In case you haven’t played Diablo 3, I could tell you that you’re supposed to find the Black Soulstone to use it to destroy Diablo himself.. If you ask me the names kinda goes along quite well.
Another qualified guess would be the oh so anticipated Titan! In 2007 Blizzard was looking for developers for the “next-gen MMO” but since then there has been little to no information about it all.. All we know is that it has been playable since 2011, but that’s it.. Blizzard has taken around 100 developers from the other games (Starcraft, World of Warcraft and Diablo) to focus more on Titan. But then again, why would Blizzard have another codename for a possible game title that we already know? And to be fairly honest, Blackstone doesn’t sound like a game title they would make, unless it’s an expansion.
Another quite interesting guess is that they would remake an old game from 1994 called Blackthorne. Okay, except from the name similarity I don’t actually think this would be a valid guess…
But as I think about it… Could it be the next WoW expansion? I mean.. They said they would release new expansion more frequently (currently it has been around 3 years between them) so maybe this isn’t as unlikely as it sounds. Yeah, I can’t really imagine an item or anything like that in the Warcraft universe, but it’s just as possible as any of the other games if you ask me!
Hmm… Personally I do believe it’s the Diablo 3 expansion. The name fits the gamestyle and doesn’t go along with any of the other games. But it’s weird that they would register a domain for an expansion, they haven’t done that before, so maybe it’s the new MMO after all?! oh god all these theories and speculations make me dizzy..! Ah well.. we can’t do anything but speculate and hope we get some more information soon!
That’s it for now guys, Mike is over and out!
After years of people loving them unicorns, we finally get the chance to kill them! After you’ve killed Diablo, the lord of Terror you must face the ultimate challenge, killing them unicorns!
Apparently Blizzard made a reference to the secret cow level in Diablo II, by giving us the secret unicorn level.. Whimsyshire, the place where dreams come true, and damn right if my dream isn’t to slaughter unicorns!
I’m afraid I don’t have much details on this since I just discovered it on the internet, had haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, but damnit I’m looking forward to it!
Soon you will all know me as Mike the Unicorn slayer!
The day had just begun, but the minions of Hell were once again released from their prison, and now pushing their way out of the depths whence they came, more hungry and vicious than ever before. Not long ago, a group of glorious heroes had been victorious and managed to trap the 3 Prime Evils in the Soulstone, but now, 20 years later the two Lesser Evils, Azmodan and Belial seeks to overtake the the world.
On May 15 we saw the beginning of the end, all Hell broke loose. As the champions of the world was getting ready to do what they could to stop the up coming apocalypse, they encountered a rather… unexpected problem. Blizzards Diablo 3 servers couldn’t handle the traffic and crashed. So we had to sit by, and patiently wait for the servers to get back online, so that we could do what we did best: bashing them keyboards!
It has been 11 years since Diablo II: Lord of Destruction was released on June 29, 2001, and since then people have been (more or less) waiting patiently for the release of Diablo III, and finally on May 15, 2012 we were sent back in time, to save Tristram once again.
Me and my brother was getting ready to play all night. I had been gathering supplies to get through the night: Redbull, candy and lots of coca cola, and was starting to look forward to this. We were watching the countdown timer, but when it hit the magical 0 we, as with millions of others, weren’t able to log in. Oh well shit happens… But surely enough, 2 hours later we were online and started our adventure. The vicious Ectoplasma and Garvilt the Magnificent, are slowly but surely kicking every demon they see!
I managed to get some gametime before leaving for school (although skipping it had crossed my mind several times) and honestly, I couldn’t wait to get home to play some more! So yeah, here I am, 6:30 Wednesday morning, after another allnighter, writing this, as im starting to get ready for school! So in about 7-8 hours I’m back online, and getting ready to kick some more demon ass! Life is quite good right at the moment!
So if you’re still waiting for your copy of the game then shame on you for being lazy and not going to the midnight launch or downloading the game! but if you on the other hand decided not to buy it, then please, find the nearest Diablo fan, and ask him to smack your face!
Myes, ass kicking barbarian :3
In my last post I was talking about how there was only a month till Diablo 3 was being released and how badly I wanted a beta key, and it turns out that my prayers have been heard! The manager of CopenhagenGames gave away a few beta keys to the crew, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of them. But of course it shouldn’t be that easy for me… Turns out Blizzard had some problems with their servers or whatever it was, and that every time I tried to activate my beta-key I got an error, yay..! I tried to add it a few times a day for a few days but without luck. But yesterday Blizzard decided to have an open beta weekend, where everyone could enter the beta and have a look at Diablo 3! So today the game finished downloading, and I finally had my first look at Diablo 3, and it looks awesome! But so far I’ve only managed to try multiplayer out, due to some errors when I’m trying to start singleplayer, and I do not approve! Hopefully the lovely chaps at Blizzard will fix it soon so that I can play properly!
But not only did I get a beta key for Diablo 3, Blizzard also decided to finally give me my Mist of Pandaria beta key! I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but I’m very much looking forward to it! I mean, who doesn’t want to be a panda? or at least kick some panda ass!
So yeah, open Diablo 3 beta weekend, so all you have to do is log on battle.net (or create an account if you don’t have one (dont worry it’s free)) and download the game! And while you’re at it go subscribe to the World of Warcraft annual pass to get the Mist of Pandaria beta!
That’s it for now I think, I’m just waiting for my brother to pop online so that we can kick some Skeleton King ass!
Mike is over and out!
Alright peeps! It’s April 16 and there is now less than a month till Diablo 3 is being released (on may 15), and I can’t bloody wait! Although that might be a bit of an exaggeration since I can and do have to wait, but that doesn’t make me any less excited about the game!
With less than a month to go I sort of should start to look into the details that have been released about the classes, minions and especially the lore! But to be fairly honest, I really can’t be bothered with it, I’m just hoping to get a beta-key from someone so that I can explore D3 as soon as possible, but obviously without luck… been trying to get my hands on one for ages by liking and sharing stuff on facebook and whatnot, even a tournament thingie every now and then, but sadly Fortune hasn’t been nice to me!
So in case you somehow managed to get a beta-key, feel free to hand it over!
I really don’t know much about the game, but I’ve heard from people, that the gameplay is very much alike Diablo 2 and that the lore should be epic, so I’m really in the dark about the game but I am very much looking forward to it! So who ever tried the beta or just stalked youtube vids, blogs, forums etc. is more than welcome to give me some information about it on the pros and cons and all that!
If you are one of those people who never played Diablo or Diablo 2, I can HIGHLY recommend this game! (well, not diablo 3, but the other two!) The game is filled with awesoemness, and no one in their right mind would dislike this game! And the looks of it is brilliant as well, I’ve been looking through hundreds of screenshots from the game and I love it!
(PS. If you’re not planning to buy the game, then feel free to buy me a collectors edition)
May 15 can’t come soon enough!
But for now I’ll return to my homework (yay)
